A mailing system for joint Nordic events
EMCC Norway in 2021 implemented a new gen mailing system. We now automatically segment for country, member/non-member, accredited/not-accredited and interest areas. The system also manages follow-up emails – if you have already enrolled for an activity, it makes no sense to be reminded to enrol… Or, if you have attended an event, we want to reliably send what we have promised.
With a growing number of members, we want to reach everybody. Reliably. Reliability means we need to follow up on delivery, open-rates and click-through rates. You need sequences, tags, and automation to do this. The result: our open rate is a staggering 57%.
Automation means that we can now open up our events to participants outside of Norway – in fact we can easily administer joint Nordic events and trainings. Of course, in full compliance with GDPR.
Mentoring Programs / Series (Nordic EMCC members or invited)
We started with Scandinavia’s #1 authority, Kirsten Poulsen on 10 Nov 2021 and followed by a series of presentations and case studies recorded on Zoom, each followed by an interview and Q&A.
We are now planning for 2-4 additional webinars and have enough members to start a Nordic Interest Group for mentoring.

Nordic 5-day challenge
In addition to challenges hosted by EMCC Global, each country is building capacity and welcomes participants from other Nordic countries. We see this as a great way to build relationships between Nordic countries.
News Syndication (proof of concept)
EMCC countries around the world use blogs and social media on different platforms. Not only were we curious about what happens in other Nordic countries and major economies, but EMCC Global struggles to know what’s going on around the world.
This project evaluated artificial intelligence as well as regular RSS to draw information from around the world. We reviewed news streams from EMCC Global and sites that use English, German, Spanish, French and Italian.
We installed a Multi-site WordPress, which is used by companies, organisations and universities worldwide. Each of the countries would have their own WordPress, which accepts emails via the Postie plugin. The ‘social’ category could then be automatically picked up by the FS plugin, which posted to the intended social media platform.
While we could prove that this a free solution is technically feasible, a social media front-end such as Sendible ($29/month) or Hootsuite requires less admin support.
Important note: A front-end is the only way to syndicate LinkedIn posts. This is because LinkedIn is a closed eco-community whose algorithms rely on users interacting online with the system.
